The Minister of Agriculture and Forests Visited the River Nile State In view of following up the production season in the River Nile State ,H.E.Prof Elzubeir Bashir Taha paid a visit of El Hudaiba Research Station and the Arab Sudanese Seed Co.(ASSCO) site in Atbara on Sunday 4/1/2009 , Mr.Taha was accompanied with the members of (ASSCO) Board of Directors and high official from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture . In his visit he praised the genuine efforts that have be exerted by the researchers in the filed of hard wheat production for processing , the trials on optimum sowing dates of different wheat varieties ,sugar beat production and resistance of tomato to virtual disease , on the other hand ,he visited the ASSCO wheat seed production field in Atbara in an area of 2624 fed which is irrigated by the pivot system .At the end of his visit he recalled for collaborative programs between ASSCO ,ARC and the technology transfer Administration in the Ministry of Agriculture with the aim of boosting the production through efficient extension and out reach programs . 3- The Department of International Cooperation meeting with the Sudanese Experts working in International Organisation During the meeting which has been convened on , the Director General of International Cooperation and Investment called for interactive collaboration with the Sudanese Experts in-order to benefit from their experiences and international exposure in raising the capacities in the agricultural sector through sound projects and also in availing job opportunities to potential Sudanese staff in the international and regional organisations . in another vein, the international experts appreciate the role of the government of Sudan in fulfilling its financial contribution to the respective organizations that can increase the opportunities for Sudan to benefit from the projects which will be financed and technically supported by such organizations
